Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Inclined Plane ("Inclined Plane", "we", "us") collects, uses, and protects personal information when you visit our website or engage with our services. We take your privacy seriously.
01Who We Are

04Legal Basis for Processing (UK/EU)
For visitors subject to UK/EU GDPR, we rely on the following lawful bases:
- Contract: Processing necessary to take steps prior to or fulfil a contract with you
- Legitimate interests: Running our business, improving our services, and maintaining website security — balanced against your rights
- Consent: Marketing communications and non-essential cookies — where you have explicitly opted in
- Legal obligation: Where we are required to process data to comply with law
06International Data Transfers
Because we operate internationally, personal data we collect may be transferred to, and processed in, the United States, India, or other countries outside your home jurisdiction.
When we transfer your data across borders, we ensure it receives an adequate degree of protection by implementing necessary legal safeguards, such as specific legally-approved contracts (like Standard Contractual Clauses) which give personal data the same protection it has in regions like the UK/EEA.
07Data Retention
We retain personal data only for as long as necessary for the purpose it was collected, or as required by law. Our general retention periods are:
- Enquiry and contact records: 3 years from last contact
- Client engagement records: 7 years post-engagement (legal/tax obligations)
- Job application data (unsuccessful): 6 months from decision
- Marketing consent records: Until consent is withdrawn
- Website analytics data: 14 months (Google Analytics default)
08Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the following rights over your personal data:
- Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
- Rectification: Ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete data
- Erasure: Request deletion of your data where we have no lawful reason to retain it
- Restriction: Ask us to limit how we use your data in certain circumstances
- Portability: Receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format
- Objection: Object to processing based on legitimate interests or for direct marketing
- Withdraw consent: At any time, where we rely on consent as the legal basis
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at the details in Section 14. We will respond within 30 days. UK/EEA residents also have the right to lodge a complaint with their local supervisory authority.
09California Residents — CCPA / CPRA Rights
If you are a resident of California, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA) grants you specific rights regarding your personal information. This section supplements the rest of this Privacy Policy and applies solely to California residents.
